Ring and a pendant
I took another jewelry class and made a pendant and ring. I was going to plan on selling the pendant but I liked it so much that I'm keeping it. The ring I planned on keeping already because I wanted to make one and it is my first. I'm pleased with it, but I did need quite a bit of help from my wonderful instructor. She is so patient in class and knows so much. I'm really thankful that she is around here. You will need to start looking in my store soon for some metalsmithing jewelry.

Mustache Birthday Cake
Oh, yes you read that title correct a mustache birthday cake. My son turned 13 this past Saturday and he wanted a mustache birthday cake. Is this funny or what. We have a friend who has been making his cakes since he was two, bless her. She does such a wonderful job. Just ask what he wants and she delivers. The cakes always look great and are so moist and yummy! All chocolate inside this one. I wish I could say I did this but I can't even come close!

The Teacher by Leslie Pinckney Hill
We have been cleaning out my mother-in-laws places and we found this book of poems. I felt I wanted to share this one since she was a teacher.
THE TEACHER
Lord, who am I to teach the way,
To little children day by day,
So prone myself to go astray?
I teach them KNOWLEDGE, but I know
How faint they flicker and how low,
The candles of my knowledge glow.
I teach them POWER to will and do,
But only now to learn anew
My own great weakness through and through.
I teach them LOVE for all mankind
And all God's creatures, but I find
My love comes lagging far behind.
Lord, if their guide I still must be,
Oh, let the little children see
The teacher learning hard on thee.

Mom, sister, mother-in-law, friend, teacher, counselor, neighbor, aunt, grandma, and great grandmother
Death. It is very hard to grasp when one dies. Joan my mother-in-law just passed away this past Tues. around 7:00 pm. Her whole family was able to be there when she died. It was a blessing for them to be able to do this. She held out until everyone arrived and the Chaplin said her liturgy. The last words we said was "deliver your servant" then she died. I will cherish the times that we had. It is so humbling to see all the people who loved her and hear the different stories one views of her. Joan I will miss you and I do LOVE YOU!! Bless you!!

Valentine's Day Card contest
I really wanted to put my pictures of the frost on the trees I took the other day, but somehow my pictures are not on the computer no longer and we are not sure what happened to them. I am very disappointed because I wanted to enter them in a contest. (bummer) I think I have a bug on the program but will have to see if more disappear. So I'm posting about the Cool Moms Picks Valentine's Day Card Design Contest. I first saw the contest on Etsy Storque blog It has ended on Jan 22nd but waiting to hear the results. I wanted to challenge myself for fun so I entered the contest and this is what I came up with.
